Margaret Wilson

Margaret Wilson is a qualified and experienced Child and Adolescent Counsellor. She is registered with the BACP, has a full DBS and she is specifically trained to work with children, young people and their parents.  Margaret works in schools, a local charity and has a busy private practice.
Counselling young people requires specialist theoretical and practical skills which are then subtly woven throughout each session. Sometimes when children or young people are struggling emotionally they can find it difficult to understand their feelings or to express themselves verbally.  This can lead to overwhelming and confusing feelings which may present or be expressed as anxiety, anger, self-harm or other distressing emotions or behaviours. Margaret works at an age appropriate level using a variety of talking and creative resources to work through and resolve ‘stuck’ feelings, supporting a move towards self-understanding and resilience.
Margaret supports families struggling with school refusal and has experience counselling young people with on-going ill health.
