Jane Troughton

Jane is an HCPC registered creative arts therapist working with a range of client populations and settings. Jane mainly adopts a psycho-dynamically-informed model and seeks to use interventions which best suit the client, including receptive and active music-making approaches, counselling, and a range of creative therapies. Jane has experience of working with trauma, abuse and a range of mental health conditions.

She works with adults, young people and children, including adopted children suffering with CPTSD, and has a special interest in supporting families and working dyadically with parents and their children. She has undertaken additional training, including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach designed to help children and their parents build secure and trusting relationships, especially after early life trauma.

Jane has recently qualified as an Advanced Music and Imagery Practitioner and is excited to be able to offer this as part of her practice. In her spare time Jane enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, reading, singing, and walking.
