Alexandra McKibbin
Alexandra is an integrative counsellor with extensive experience supporting both young people and adults facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, anger, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. She has worked in schools, an NHS-funded charity, and a community interest counselling service, bringing a compassionate, grounded approach to her practice. Specialising in working with young people with autism and ADHD, Alexandra also supports adults on the autistic spectrum and their families, helping them navigate the emotional and relational complexities that can arise in everyday life.
Her journey into counselling began while studying Early Childhood Education, where a module on Developmental Psychology sparked a deep interest in emotional development and wellbeing. Later, her work as a Targeted Youth Worker offered valuable insight into the intricate emotional worlds of adolescents and their support networks. Now based in Harrogate after moving from Brighton, Alexandra enjoys exploring the local market towns and walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. She is a proud mother of three grown-up children, the youngest of whom was diagnosed with autism and ADHD
during primary school — an experience that continues to shape her empathetic, informed approach to counselling.
