How Viv works
Viv is an integrative counsellor who draws on a range of therapeutic approaches to suit the needs of each individual or couple. She believes that every person brings a unique story and that therapy should be tailored accordingly.
When working with individuals, Viv provides a supportive space to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable. Her particular interests include trauma, anxiety, self-esteem and the connection between emotional wellbeing and the body.
In couples work, Viv uses a systemic approach which explores patterns of interaction within the relationship and how these may be influenced by family experiences, culture, beliefs and life history. This can be particularly helpful when communication has broken down and couples find themselves caught in cycles of conflict, blame or misunderstanding.
Although often used in couples therapy, Viv’s systemic approach can also be valuable for family relationships, parent and adult child relationships, friendships and workplace relationships where patterns of communication or conflict have become difficult to navigate.
Professional background
Viv is qualified in both individual and couples therapy and has a strong commitment to ongoing professional development. She continues to expand her knowledge in areas that support clients’ wellbeing and recovery.
She currently has a particular interest in the mind-body connection and how trauma can become encoded within the body, influencing both emotional and physical wellbeing.
