Chris O’Malley

Chris is an integrative counsellor who draws on person-centred, cognitive behavioural (CBT), and psychodynamic approaches. By combining elements from these modalities, he tailors support to each client’s individual needs, creating a therapeutic experience that is as unique as the person.

Chris has a particular interest in working with men facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, grief, phobias, and relationship difficulties. He is especially passionate about psychoeducation — an approach that empowers clients by helping them understand their mental health and develop effective strategies for managing it.

With a professional background in education, Chris brings valuable experience in working with children and young people. His natural ability to build trust helps younger clients feel safe and confident as they explore their thoughts and emotions. He uses age-appropriate techniques to foster strong, supportive therapeutic relationships.

Outside the counselling room, Chris enjoys spending time outdoors with his young family, travelling, and staying active.
